Holden and Mercutio..
I think that Holden identifies with Mercutio and not Tybalt because they're similar. In Romeo and Juliet, Mercutio doesn't like when people are flashy with their money and luxuries. He doesn't like how people are into the latest fashion. Even though Holden is a wealthy boy and comes from a wealthy home, he feels the same way as Mercutio. Holden calls a lot of people "phony" and when people show off their things, he calls them "phony".

This is a good thought that makes sense that I did not consider.
I agree with ashley and why Holden talks about Mercutio and not Tybalt. The connection she made with the word "phony" fits in and i thought it was a good connection.
